In Phase 2, we are dreaming together about the many possible futures for the Emerald Ribbon.

Guiding Principles

The following principles will guide the entire Emerald Ribbon Action Plan. These principles are based on community engagement in Phase One and were created in close collaboration with the Emerald Ribbon Community Advisory Group. Tell us what you think at the March open houses!

Celebrate the rich ecological and cultural diversity of the corridor.

Connect the corridor into surrounding streets, trails, and waterways.

Cultivate collective care of the corridor.

Restore and enhance the river ecosystem as a peaceful refuge.

Create a safe and vibrant destination.

Design Concepts for the Future

We developed three concepts for the future of the Jordan River that capture ideas we heard from the community. Each of these concepts explore different themes and strategies, and our final plan will combine aspects of all three.

In March 2024, we opened an online survey and held two public workshops where over 800 people shared their feedback. View the concepts below.
